MY DAUGHTERS WEDDING PART 2.
(You might want a hanky ready– The ED) As the ‘big day’ loomed ever closer and the lists got shorter I did try to get as much rest as I could as we all knew the fortnight leading up to the wedding would be busy, busy, busy and BOY was it! Because of the strict planning we were on top of everything easily, again Amy doing a lot of the things needed. We had a show of presents one weekend before the wedding. Old fashioned I know, but I think it is a nice idea to show family and friends the lovely gifts that people had thoughtfully given. Soup was made the day before and I had made up some sandwiches which were devoured by the girls on their return from the hair dressers. Next to arrive was the beautician for myself and Amy, the other two were confident about doing their own. What a difference make-up makes and it was nice to see ourselves being transformed. The only thing left was to get Amy into her dress.
We were all ready, dressed in our finery, the cars had arrived and we could all feel the knot in our stomachs tighten and Amy started to cry. This was something we had not prepared ourselves for and hasten to add it started us all off!!. Of course there was no time to sort ourselves out and say all the things you want to say to your daughter before you leave because we were running late. We all sniffed our |
