‘Well I get out of bed, with assistance, get dressed and then take the dog for a walk.’ Funny? No, this was as actual answer given at an appeal tribunal!
When the appeal has finished the Chairman will tell you to wait and the decision will be given to your representative after about 15-20 minutes. At that point the appeal is won or lost and on the day, nothing can alter the decision.
If the appeal is lost your representative should ask for a statement of the reasons for decision in order that he/she can properly consider if the case is worth taking to the Social Security Commissioners. That is another article for another issue.
( I hope this series has been helpful to many. Next issue we will be examining the subject of ‘one off payments’.) |
