COLLOQUIUM ON ME/CFS BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH by Dr Lorna Paul, Lecturer in Physiotherapy at Glasgow Caledonian University and HealthQWest Research Fellow, and was organised and sponsored by ME Research UK (MERGE), which commissions and funds biomedical research, and the Irish ME Trust which represents ME/CFS patients in the Republic of Ireland
The aim was to bring together Professionals working towards the common goal of understanding the biomedical basis of this illness, and to raise awareness of the need for biomedical investigation. Speakers consisted of key scientific experts in the field, and the day was particularly aimed at scientific and healthcare professionals with a working interest in ME/CFS. distribution to GPs, stakeholders, healthcare professionals and
patients. aspects of ME/CFS was urgently needed, and that improvement of health and social care was an urgent challenge. Sixty Scientists and healthcare professionals attended and it is hoped to hold a larger event next year
