UPDATE FROM ADVOCACY AT 25% GROUP.

As you may remember the 25% group could not offer a full advocacy service for M.E.

sufferers. Good news arrived this week with a letter from their new Advocacy worker Lynda

Anderson. Below is a copy of the letter. The D&G ME Network would like to offer her all the

success in her role with the 25% group and thank her for keeping us informed of the changes.

Dear Scottish ME Group

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as Lynda Anderson, the recently

appointed Advocacy Worker for the 25% Group.

It is a pleasure to be involved in the resurgence of the Advocacy remit after its recent short

Absence, and I hope to be able to match the demand for a comprehensive provision of

information, advice and guidance useful to the ME cause.

Our service covers a diversity of issues arising from disability welfare rights and is dedicated to

convey guidance, information and direct representation, where possible.

Advice is on hand regarding specific topics such as Disability Benefits and related Appeals,

Community Care, Housing/Social Work and general health and medical issues.

In addition to providine face to face and telephone support services, the remit of the advocacy support extends to the provision of information relevant to the subjects above. To this end, it is my intention to produce regular advocacy related material based on topical areas of relevance to ME sufferers.

If I can be of any assistance to your group and its members, please call me on 01292 312369 or write to; 25% Group. 21 Church Street, Troon, Ayrshire. KA10 6HT.

I am delighted to be a representative and advocate for the ME community. I fully hope to attain

positive results and best practice for individual clients and for the broad spectrum body of ME.

Yours Sincerely

Lynda Anderson
