Penny Lilley sent us a copy of the SCVS newslet-
ter with information about the Dumfries
OSCAR  Roadshow and an article about
Go4 Volunteering.
It was good to hear that Penny is still managing
to hold down a job and is able to pursue one or
two other interests.
Thanks Penny and best Wishes from us all.
I received a phone call very recently from
Ann Halsted.
They have now moved to
Carlisle.
We were very sorry to
learn that both her
daughters now suffer
from ME.  Ann was saying
they do attend an ME Clinic.
Our Best wishes to you all . Keep in touch
GUY THE SCARECROW
1
Who would be a scarecrow
5
A small sack for my head
In the field all day
Filled with straw as well
Night can be so lonely
Floppy hat on my head
But here I’ll have to stay
The birds will never tell
2
My clothes are hand me downs
6
I don’t like the farmer’s dog
They always seem to fit
He treats me like a tree
Even when it rains
Relieves himself against my leg
And shrink a little bit
When he does a wee
3
I wear a boiler suit
7
And when the summer’s gone
That’s been filled with straw
I’ll be taken to the farm
Not quite a tailor’s dummy
There I’ll wait my next job
But I’m sure I look right braw
In lonely barn
4
A brush shank through my sleeves
8
The Farmer’s got one other job
Holds my arms out straight
The date I must remember
Fixed to a post at my back
It’s only for one evening
Helps support my weight
On the 5th of November!!
Margaret Blake tells us, her uncle always called a
“senior moment”
“Intellectual Overload .“  Think we rather like that.
