X-Party Group on ME.
Holy rood
The Cross Party Group on M.E. (M.E. as defined by
the World Health Organisation) has successfully
Re-registered with the Scottish Parliament and Elections for Office Bearers were held using
the internet to register nominations and votes—with the following results :-
Co-Convenors: Mary Scanlon MSP [Conservative] and Andy Kerr MSP [Labour]
Deputy Convenor: Charlie Gordon MSP [Labour]
Secretary: Susan Webster (on behalf of Action for M.E.)
Assistant Secretary: Linda Dunn
Treasurer/Publicity: Nick Stroud
Health Board/Support Group Liaison Officer: Denis Turner
Benefits Liaison Officer: Connie Nelson
Other Committee Members: Simon Lawrence, Ewan Dale, Dr Lorna Paul,
Catherine Lewis, Dr Gregor Purdie, Helen Brownlie, Margaret Williams
and Jane Giakoumakis
The first committee meeting of the newly formed group was held on
Tuesday 23rd October 2007.
The legacy paper left by the previous Cross Party Group was discussed and it was
suggested that this paper would be the starting point for the new Cross Party Group on M.E.
The Group are very fortunate that Andy Kerr MSP has registered his interest in our cause by
accepting the Co-Conveners position. Andy held the post of Health Minister in the last
Parliament.
